This year, my friend Amanda and I decided to pay tribute to old Hollywood for our Tower of Terror 10 Miler costumes. “Hip, hip hooray for Hollywood” was our theme.
Amanda went with a classic bellhop costume, and I decided to find my inner Hollywood Starlet.
My costume was easy to put together….a Sparkle Athletic skirt and matching sleeves and a tech top embellished with a feather boa and jewels. Add some blingy earrings, ring, bracelet, and a simple flower hair clip and voila! Instant Hollywood! I pulled my hair back in a ponytail with a victory roll on each side to add a little retro flair.
Tip: I hot glued the boa to the top, making sure the feathers weren’t touching my skin. The hot glue would allow me to rip off the boa mid-race if it started to annoy me, but it didn’t bother me at all, even with high humidity and heat (and a wicked stomach bug).
I really loved our Hollywood-inspired costumes and I’m already planning on another look at Hollywood for this year’s race.
