Welcome to the first Friday Journal. Basically, a rambling of what happened over the past week, what I’m looking forward to, and things I’m currently loving. I hope you’ll share your Friday thoughts in the comments below, too.
It’s the final Friday of the summer. I’m going to miss lazy evenings at the pool (and my tan), but I’m ready for school to start and to get everyone back into a routine. We were going to soak up the sun at the pool all weekend, but that pesky Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hermine is messing with our plans. Maybe we’ll hit up the theater for a showing of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory instead.
(I went to go find some photos to recap our week and realized I really didn’t take any at all. It’s been a crazy week of getting ready for school to start with shopping and doctor’s appointments. In other words: not very exciting or photo-worthy.)
What I’m thankful for this week:
Three ingredient peanut butter cookies for when you need a cookie fix right now. 1 cup sugar, 1 egg, 1 cup peanut butter. Mix, bake at 350 for 9-12 minutes. So easy, so delicious.
What I’m Watching:
Honestly, I’ve watched this Thor video about ten times and I laugh hysterically each and every time. I can’t help it.
Our current and long-standing binge on Netflix right now is Longmire. We had hoped to be caught up before the new season is released in a few weeks, but I don’t think it’s happening.
I want to go see The Light Between Oceans this weekend, but I just know I’ll sob uncontrollably. I might need to wait to watch this one at home where no one will see my puffy eyes when it’s over.
What I’m Reading:
I just finished A Storm of Swords and started A Feast for Crows. Two more books and I can finally let myself watch Game of Thrones. Although, if the show is half as maddening as these books, I’m not sure I’ll be able to handle it. I have so many thoughts about the end of book three. SO MANY.
Andrea at Just is a Four Letter Word shared ways to fulfill the void in your soul left from finish Stranger Things. I haven’t watched the series yet, so I’m basically bookmarking this for when I do.
Jessi at Shuggilippo shared this Buzzfeed article about using a bullet journal for better mental health and it’s been a game-changer. I bought my first “real” dotted bullet journal this week and it’s already making my life better. Maybe I’ll share my layouts with you in next Friday’s journal if that’s something you’d be into.
So there we have it. My first Friday Journal. Chime in below with what you’re up to this week, what you’re reading or watching, or what you think I should be reading or watching. Have a great holiday weekend! xoxo
