Happy Friday, loves! I know I’ve been off the wagon with Friday journals lately!
What happened this week
This was definitely an interesting week, at least on the homefront. We started off the week at a Nationals game (or as I like to call it “an excuse to get Shake Shack”.)
Then we ended up with one kid with a fever, then a rash, then a black eye. One kid came home from her 4-H meeting as the club historian and happier than I’ve ever seen her. The kids are off school today for a teacher workday, so I made a special breakfast (banana fritters and bacon, ftw) and we’re having a pajama day.
What I’m thankful for this week
Christmas music. Yes, on the first week of October. I love Halloween and Thanksgiving, you guys. LOVE. But, Christmas music is all I need to get by from October 1-January 1. As soon as the weather starts getting cooler and the skies start getting grayer, all I want to do is listen to Christmas music and smell pumpkin. I can’t help it. I’m a walking Nightmare Before Christmas.
What I’m reading
I’m still working on Happier at Home. I never finished the September chapter, so I’m contemplating just skipping ahead to October so I can stay on track. I could use some reading suggestions for my cruise next week! I want to finish the last Game of Thrones book, but I’ll need at least one other book for the week.
Susan from Mom on the Map shared some seriously gorgeous photos of her recent trip to Iceland and I’m having major bucket list fever.
Amiyrah from Four Hats and Frugal is killing it in her Outfit of the Week (dusty rose, ftw you guys! I told you!)
What I’m watching
This wasn’t a big tv week. Of course, we’ve been watching lots of football and playoff baseball, but no real show watching. I’ve started leaving CNN on during the day while I work, but it’s mostly for background noise. I’ve also been watching a ton of FB live videos lately. “The Morning Show Thing” on the Brittlestar page is my current favorite. Amiryah from Four Hats and Frugal has been doing a ton of FB Live videos about her capsule wardrobe, and I’m loving those as well.
What I’m looking forward to next week
Oh, I don’t know. Maybe just a little cruise I’m taking with Sam Hunt. Maybe. Possibly. Ok, honestly? I am freaking out with excitement. This is my first major press trip and the first time I’ll be away from my family for an entire week. It’s both amazing and nerve-wracking. I leave next Sunday and I’m pretty much counting down the hours at this point.
I know I don’t mention my KEEP Collective business on here at lot, but YOU GUYS HOLIDAY STUFF IS OUT NEXT WEEK! It’s so darn cute. There’s a red cup coffee mug (swoon) and lots of other gorgeous holiday pieces. If you’d like to see some sneak peeks, join my VIP Facebook group.
