Friday Journal is back! Welcome to my weekly round-up of what’s been going on in my life, as well as some of my favorite reads and finds from around the internet.
It’s been a week, y’all.
Monday, I wasn’t feeling well and missed work. Tuesday, I landed in the ER. Several hours, a battery of tests, and an IV later, the doctor told me “we don’t have any answers for you. Go home and rest and drink plenty of fluids.” Helpful.
(Side note: I did learn that it’s possible to have a heart attack and not actually feel any pain or discomfort, especially in women. I’m glad I went to the ER when I knew I wasn’t feeling right, even though, thankfully, it didn’t turn out to be anything serious.)
I’m still super exhausted and don’t feel like myself. I’m trying to rest as much as possible (lol to that when you’re a working parent), and I’m hoping the new doctor I’m seeing soon will have some better answers…pretty much any answer that doesn’t make me seem like I’m going crazy. I’m sure it all comes down to more autoimmune mysteries, but I’ll take whatever answers I can get.
Little man had his first baseball game this week. I forced myself out of bed, got dressed, and used every last ounce of energy I had to cheer him on. They came back from 0-7 to win 8-7. He went 0-3, but made some great defensive plays. I’m so happy baseball season is finally here.
I’ve taken up cross stitch. Because why not add to my nerd level a little more? I’m using it as a way to focus my mind somewhere else each night and try to reduce stress. I’ve got a lot going on in my head lately and any distraction is welcome. So far, it’s better than coloring books.
And this song is on repeat daily:
Here’s some other stuff from around the internet you may find interesting:
If you’re looking for a little dose of inspiration every week, sign up for the Just is a Four Letter Word newsletter. It’s one of the only newsletters I actually open and read on a regular basis.
The She’s On The Go Instagram feed makes me happy. Gorgeous travel photography from several different perspectives.
The Victoria Beckham for Target collection launches this Sunday and these are the items I need in my closet.
Of course, my week is nothing compared to what’s happening overseas. I won’t get political in this space, but if you’re looking for a way to help, Coolmompicks put together a list of reputable organizations.
