Happy Friday, loves!
What happened this week
Sunday, we went to a local state park to check out the leaves and enjoy the nearly 80 degree weather. Of course, we had to get pumpkins to carve, and stopped at the farmer’s market. We were fall AF, y’all.
The rest of the week was spent trying to play catch-up after two back-to-back trips. I love traveling for work so much, but I’m not a fan of the aftermath. I spent most of the day Wednesday and Thursday on the couch, sick with some sort of funk. I’m finally up and about, and I should be back at 100% again before the wedding tomorrow night. (Did you see what I’m going to wear?)
What I’m thankful for this week
The holidays are here. I don’t care if it’s November 4th. Christmas music is playing in stores, the leaves are beautiful, it smells like fall outside, my favorite holiday treats are starting to show up on shelves, and I just feel happier. It’s been a very long, rough year and I’m looking forward to fully immersing myself in Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years so I can end the year on a high note.
What I’m reading
Tis the season for me to start reading allllll the holiday-themed books. I haven’t started a must-read list for this year, so I could definitely use some suggestions if you have them.
Andrea at Just is a Four Letter Word wrote an amazing piece on the Cubs winning the World Series. Baseball brought us all together for a few nights, and it was a really good feeling.
Emily from ColoradoMoms.com wrote a hilarious, and entirely accurate, recap of our Carnival trip.
Amiyrah from Four Hats and Frugal wrote about stepping in front of the camera and letting her husband take the lens.
Fadra from All Things Fadra wrote about why she attends blogging conferences (hint: not all of it is to learn.)
What I’m watching
I binged Good Girls Revolt during my sick days. I saw the pilot episode a few months ago during Amazon Pilot Season and I was immediately hooked. I am so glad the pilot was picked up and we got an entire season of the show. I am crossing all the things it returns for a second season because there are things I NEED TO KNOW.
What I’m looking forward to next week
More holiday goodness! I’m working on some fun Target holiday gift guides for y’all. I’m also heading on another cruise next week. Yes, another one. This time, I’m setting sail with Disney Cruise Line on the newly reimagined Wonder. I’m so thankful to Amy from Resourceful Mommy for letting me cover the sailing for her.
