The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is one of my favorite spring Special Events at Walt Disney World Resort. Epcot is filled with color and beauty, dozens of custom topiary and great seminars are available from HGTV design stars.
My children love the Flower and Garden Festival for the special play areas. We spent hours there last year, just letting the kids run free. They asked to go back again and again. It’s a great way to let them burn off some energy after a day in strollers, lines, attractions and meals.
For the 20th anniversary of the Festival, the play area will feature a “Land of Oz” theme, in anticipation of the upcoming film “Oz the Great and Powerful” (in theaters March 8th). The interactive children’s play zone will feature play systems adorned with giant flowers and designed to stretch kids’ imaginations and muscles. Midway-style games, red-and-white circus-themed tents and the “Oz Movie Garden” of intriguing plants will capture the spirit of the upcoming film. Also on tap: photo opportunities and the “great and powerful Oz’s” crashed hot-air balloon.
I can definitely tell my kids will want to spend hours playing around Oz! I can’t wait to see photos once the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival kicks off on March 6th! (The festival runs through May 19th)
For more Disney movie fun at the Festival, be sure to check out the all-new Monsters University topiary featuring Mike and Sully!
