I love babywearing. Love it. However, I am not a huge fan of pocket slings or hard-sided carriers. I prefer the flexibility, adjust-ability, and versatility of wraps and ring slings. I also love Etsy and could spend my life stalking the site for awesome handmade goods. These two things came together in perfect harmony when Bunny was born. I wanted to try a Moby wrap, but I wasn’t thrilled with the plain colors and lack of style the Moby provided. After all, if I’m going to be covered in fabric, I at least want to look decent in it.
My Etsy search for baby wraps lead me to the Lovey Duds store and I immediately fell in love and ordered a fabulous pink and white print wrap. It shipped the next day and was waiting for me when we got home from the hospital. I immediately got it out and popped in the included instructional DVD. In no time at all, I had Bunny in the wrap and she loved it. She continued to love it for over a year.
Here we are in the wrap on top of Old Whiteface in Lake Placid last July when Bunny was 14 months old.
I still have my original Lovey Duds wrap, but I wanted something less…pink this time around. My mom was awesome and ended up getting me a new, more neutral wrap as a baby shower gift. I couldn’t be happier with it!
This photo was taken a few days after we brought Bubs home form the hospital (hence the “OMG I AM SO TIRED” face)
Now, Lovey Duds is using Organic cotton and bamboo to make their wraps. Can I just tell you that the Organic Bamboo fabric is to die for? It’s so silky and smooth and light! The attention to detail is much greater on the newer wraps as well. All of the edges are surged (this was not the case with my original, although I never had any problems with the fabric unraveling) and the middle panel seems to be more reinforced than the original.
I really can’t say enough great things about Lovey Duds Baby Wraps. If you’re looking for a wrap-type carrier, you definitely want to check out their shop! (And no, I wasn’t paid or given product in exchange for this post. #notspon, y’all)
