Omni Richmond Hotel Review

Omni Hotels have always been a hotel chain I associate with luxury accommodations and world-class service.

I also love Omni Hotels’ large social media presence.  They take twitter and facebook seriously, engaging with followers and holding really fantastic contests.  Last year, I was lucky enough to win a free night’s stay as part of their Social Media Day Celebration.  We were finally able to make our schedule work and booked a stay at the Omni Richmond Hotel.  It was the perfect city for a little adults-only getaway on our way to pick up the kids at my in-laws.

The Omi Richmond is located in the heart of the historic district, with easy access to great shopping, restaurants and historical sites.  I can’t say enough about the staff at the Omni Richmond.  From the valet to the bellhop to the front desk staff, everyone was welcoming and did everything they could to make sure we were enjoying our stay.

The rooms at the Omni Richmond are fabulous, y’all.  Our room was a Standard King room and came with every amenity you expect in a luxury hotel: wireless internet access, stocked minibar, luxury toiletries, plush robes, large safe and ample desk space.  The Omni Richmond plays the perfect balance between the well-appointed hotel for the business traveler and an elegant hotel, perfect for a romantic getaway.

Bathrooms at the Omni Richmond are spacious and very clean.  {y’all remember my thing about showers?  Not an issue at the Omni. It was perfectly clean and showed no signs of tile or grout wear}  As with most hotels, the lighting in the bathroom left much to be desired, but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t deal with.

While the Omni Richmond does not have a fitness center on site, hotel guests can walk next door to the James Center YMCA to use their facilities {free of charge} and an in-room “Get Fit Kit” is available at the front desk.  The hotel does have an indoor pool, although we didn’t have a chance to check it out on this visit.

One thing we loved most about the Omni Richmond was their complimentary shuttle service.  A driver was available to take us anywhere we wanted to go in the city.  We took the shuttle to our insanely delicious meal at Julep {seriously? still drooling over that meal.}, but opted to walk back to the hotel after we made a stop at a great little cigar bar for cocktails.

Overall, I’d give the Omni Richmond Hotel two thumbs up.  It was a very quick visit, but the staff and accommodations left a lasting impression.  The location is perfect for business meetings and sightseeing.  I really can’t say enough fabulous things about it.  The Omni Richmond is definitely going to be our new go-to spot for a quick overnight getaway.

I won my stay as part of Omni Hotels Social Media Day Celebration promotion. I was not asked to write a review in exchange for the stay. All thoughts are my own.
