Oz the Great and Powerful Fashion: Theodora

Oz the Great and Powerful may not hit theaters until March 8th, but that’s not stopping me from being obsessed with the fashion from the film.  Just like the original film from over the rainbow, Oz the Great and Powerful uses rich colors and fabrics to enhance the feeling of amazement and wonder that only Oz can create.  Pantone has named Emerald their Color of the Year for 2103.  Coincidence? I think not.  Jewel tones are hot, hot, hot and Oz is leading the way with fabulous fashions to match this year’s trends.

I decided to have some fun and create some Oz-inspired fashions based on the three witches featured in Oz.  This week we’re looking at Theodora.  We’re not quite sure if Theodora is a good witch who goes bad or a bad witch who pretends to be good, but no matter which witch she is (say that three times fast), Theodora’s costumes are fabulous.  Rich reds and sleek black, velvet and leather create a luxurious and sexy wardrobe for this witch.

OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Theodora Fashion

My spin on Theodora is still rich and sleek, but toned down a bit for the everyday woman.  Her look isn’t overly feminine, so I kept the structured look of a skinny pant, but paired it with a great pop of a spring red in the slightly feminine top.  Great black flats round out the outfit (because high-heeled boots just don’t work in the Spring).  The snakeskin shoe brings a little sass and, perhaps, evil, to the outfit.  And I couldn’t resist adding the ring as a nod to tornadoes.  It’s rounded out with a great necklace and structured clutch.
