Staying Connected at Sea with Carnival Wifi

We were guests of Carnival onboard the Carnival Pride. This post about Carnival Wifi was not required and does not reflect the opinions of Carnival Cruise Lines or any of their partners.

Unplugging on vacation is a wonderful idea. We don’t need to be on our phones constantly while we’re supposed to be taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of paradise. We might miss views like this, right?
Staying Connected at Sea with Carnival Wifi
Like I said, it’s a wonderful idea, but it’s not always possible. Some people need to work while on vacation, others like to be in touch with family and friends at home, and others just want to be able to check the weather or sports scores.  Others, like me, get a twitchy when they can’t check Instagram or Twitter for days at a time. No matter what your reason for wanting to be connected at sea, Carnival Cruise Lines has you covered.

Carnival Wifi Packages

Carnival offers several different wifi packages, allowing you to get the connection you need. Each plan is available for 24 hours or the length of your cruise. The connection works on one device at a time, so families will need to purchase multiple plans in order to keep everyone connected at the same time. You can not access streaming video sites like Netflix or Hulu.
Carnival Wifi

  • Social ($5 USD per day) – Access the most popular websites and applications. Includes: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Snapchat. Does not include access to other websites or apps.
  • Value ($16 USD per day) – Surf all your favorite sites, including e-mail, news, sports, weather, banking and finance. Note: Does not support Skype calling or music streaming (such as Spotify).
  • Premium ($25 USD per day) – From e-mail to Skype, our Premium plan promises the fastest possible connection, at speeds up to 3 times faster than our Value Plan. Supports Skype video calling, where coverage allows.

Carnival HUB app

Carnival HUB App
Guests on board the Carnival Breeze, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Glory, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Vista can download the Carnival HUB app for information about their cruise including deck plans, on-board activity schedules, food and drink menus, access to your Sign & Sail Account balance, and more! It even offers a chat feature (for a small fee) so you can stay connected to the rest of your travel party.

Speed and Reliability

Carnival provided me with the Premium wifi package at no charge. I was able to connect quickly and access all of my favorite apps and websites for the duration of our vacation without an issue. Periscope and YouTube were slow, but I was able to use FaceTime without issue. I was worried we’d have periodic outages, especially on sea days, but it was not the case. I liked knowing we had a way to keep in touch with home and our friends and family enjoyed following along with our vacation adventures. I would definitely purchase a wifi plan on our next Carnival Cruise.
