I need sunshine and green grass and leaves on the trees, even if it means my allergies will cause my eyes to swell and my nose to run for three straight weeks.
I need pretty dresses and pastels and shoes other than boots.
I need to hear the sound of lawn mowers and to spend an entire Saturday at Lowe’s trying to pick out flowers I won’t kill before Memorial Day.
I need to spend hours listening to baseball on the radio, drinking a cold beverage, and watching the kids play outside in the fading sun before dinner.
February is the hardest month of winter, by far. It’s cold. It’s constantly snowing, therefore constantly cloudy and grey. Football is over and there’s never enough hockey on tv to compensate. The holidays are over and it seems like Spring may never come. Not to mention that rodent has to go and remind us there’s still six more weeks of Winter to go.
It’s the shortest month, but the longest month all in one.
I was so glad to see little signs of Spring in my Stitch Fix this month. It brought some sunshine to yet another week of cloudy, grey, snowy weather. I asked my stylist (and I have a new on this month, yay!) for some vacation clothes as we’re heading to Florida to visit my dad. Jessica did a really great job this month and I feel like she gets my style. The hints of retro flare in the dresses are perfect.
The blue dress is perfect and my definite must-keep for this month. It’s a little large under the arms, but it’s nothing a tailor can’t fix easily. I can pair the dress with a sweater, blazer, or denim jacket for cooler days and sandals this summer. (and they showed it on the Stitch Fix blog belted and I’m kind of in love) The entire Fix would be a keeper if I didn’t already own a denim jacket and a tote almost exactly like the one I received, but there’s no way my stylist would have know that and it just proves that she had my style pegged.
