As always, I purchase my own Stitch Fixes. I’d love for you to consider signing up using my referral link. I’ll get your name tattooed on my arm. Or I’ll just be really, really grateful.
It’s that time again! Here’s my Stitch Fix Review June 2014:
I finally signed up for automatic monthly fixes. I wasn’t going to, but it’s really the only way to make sure you’re getting a Fix every month. Otherwise, you may be waiting over a month for your ship date. Stitch Fix is growing and growing, so I’m not surprised that the calendar is filling up faster and faster. The good thing is, I can cancel the auto ship at any time, so I’m not worried about getting a Fix when I’m not ready. I ended up not getting a Fix for May because of the backlog and I can honestly say I missed it.
I gave my stylist quite the challenge this month. I had some pretty specific demands (and I am LOVING the site tweaks that allow you to leave even more feedback and comments) and I have to say Jinnyi did a really great job! The only thing I asked for and didn’t get was a maxi dress or skirt. I’m hugely and pathetically obsessed with maxi dresses and would have loved to add another to my collection, but I loved the alternatives I was given and there’s always next month! I asked for casual, easy California style (I’m not even sure that’s a thing, but that’s what I call it in my head) and, as always, mentioned my Stitch Fix Pinterest board. I also requested no shorts/pants/accessories in this Fix and they listened. See, I told you it was specific.
Here’s what I received in my Fix for June 2014.
1. 41Hawthorn Montgomery Chevron Cross-Fit Top $48.00
This top is perfect for summer. It’s soft and light and colorful. I also like that I could pair it with dress pants or a skirt and make it business appropriate. If you’re nursing, this would be the perfect type of item to request from Stitch Fix.
2. Market and Spruce Elaine Ikat Print Pocket-Front Knit Shirt $48.00
I absolutely love the print on this top. It’s comfy and soft. The only problem is, it’s a bit big. And not in a “this looks cute because it’s big” way, but that it looks sloppy. I can deal when the shirt is tucked in, and I’m kind of hoping I can shrink it with a good warm wash/dry one time. I love pairing it with my boyfriend bermudas (my new favorite shorts for this summer. I wasn’t sure I was young and hip enough to pull them off, but I’m kind of in love, even if I look like I’m trying too hard.)
3. LA MADE Logan Jersey Swing Skirt $48.00
This was my “eh” piece this month. I’m not totally sold on the high-low hemline, but I can see myself pulling it on when I just need something casual to put on this summer or even at the beach (if we ever get to the beach.)
4. Pomelo Daisy Embroidered Hem Fit & Flare Skirt $78.00
When I first saw this skirt, I was skeptical. I would never, ever pick this up off of a rack and try it on. It’s items like this that make me love Stitch Fix. I tried the skirt on with the white button down (suggested on my style card) and my mind was completely changed. The skirt is a bit stiff, but I’m hoping it’ll break in after a few wears. I love the different colors in the hemline and that I’ll be able to pair the skirt with several different simple tanks and tees. I love getting Stitch Fix pieces that pair easily with basics and items I already have in my closet.
5. 41Hawthorn Chevron Print Detail Dress $64.00
I am going to have a ton of fun with this dress. I love the fit. I can dress it up or down, and add a ton of playful accessories in any color. I’m thinking I need a big, bright envelope clutch to pair with this for date nights. And I can wear simple sandals and jewelry around town.
Total Stitch Fix cost: $286.00 minus $20 styling fee and 25% “buy all” discount= $199.50.
I had a small amount of referral credits in my account (thanks y’all for that!) so I went ahead and kept all five pieces this month. It made more sense to keep it all and get the discount than to send one piece back. I’m pretty excited to add these five pieces into my wardrobe and I can’t wait to play with them all summer long! (also, can we talk about my pale legs? I go to Florida for a week and I somehow still have pale legs. How does that make sense!??)
I’d love to hear your thoughts on my June 2014 Stitch Fix! Which pieces would you have kept or sent back? Leave a comment and let me know!
