We’re not currently planning our next Walt Disney World trip, but that doesn’t stop me from prepping for whenever our next journey to the most Magical Place on Earth
Enter “The Disney box”. It’s a box I keep in our closet and fill with random things we’ll need or use on our trip. I use an old diaper box, so the kids don’t realize what’s inside. If they knew the goodies it contained, they’d try and scale my closet shelves to reach the treasures inside.
I purchase things like ponchos ($.99 at our grocery store) and glow sticks ($1 for a tube at Michaels, y’all). These are items we end up wanting or needing at Disney, but don’t feel like paying a premium for. I also stock up on non-perishable snacks like pretzels, candy, fruit snacks, and oatmeal. (ps-I highly recommend @Better_Oats oatmeal. The packets double as measuring cups for the liquid so you can easily make breakfast in a hotel room! Also, the boxes are super-compact.)
At the bottom of the box are ziploc bags for storing wet clothes or packing shampoo/conditioner. I also add small toys and books I find on clearance or in the dollar store at Target. New toys and books will keep Bunny and Bubba entertained longer during long car trips or plane rides.
Having a box of supplies ready and waiting means I spend less time rushing around to stores right before our vacation. It also means I’m less likely to forget essentials. I need any help I can get in the remembering department.
