Hey party people!
First, a little housekeeping:
It’s January 14th and I’m finally getting my first post of 2016 up, but it’s for good reason. I took a few weeks off from blogging to reevaluate where I’m at and I’ve decided to change things up a bit. New posts are now going live on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. I’ll be posting on Instagram and Periscope in between, so be sure you’re following me over there. Also, I’m cutting down on the topics I’ll be writing about. Fitness, Travel, and Style are all you’ll be reading about here. It means saying “no” to a lot of people and a lot of opportunities, but it means I can say “yes” more to things I really want to write about and pretty places and things make me happy. Soon, I’ll have a whole new outlet to share my love of all-things STAR WARS and I can not wait to tell you more about it.
TL;DR: New posts Tuesdays/Thursdays, lots of style, fitness, and travel content coming your way.
Now, to the real reason for this post…#YearOfTarget!
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you may have seen my post on Tuesday announcing my new project.
The premise is simple: During 2016 I am only purchasing my styling needs at Target. Makeup, hair products, clothes, shoes, accessories…everything. (Ok, truth? I’m still going to buy myself products from KEEP Collective because I’m not giving up my business, but that’s my only allowed exception.) The majority of the shopping is being done in-store, but things like the Target Beauty Box have to be purchased online.
This means no more Stitch Fix reviews, no more trips to CVS for new nail polish on a whim, no more shopping on Amazon for blanket scarves and tunics. If I’m offered a sponsored post where I’m trying the product, it has to be offered at Target. If the Bullseye doesn’t have it, I’m not getting it.
I’ve got a cruise coming up in a month, a few other trips planned, and a move to DC to work around, too.
I’m excited for the challenge and I can’t wait to share all of my Target Style finds with you and I’ve got some pretty amazing guest posters in mind who will share their Target Style tips in the coming months.. I’ll be featuring lots of stuff on my Instagram and doing some fun Periscope sessions, too (Target Beauty Box unboxings, anyone?) I’ll also be using Cartwheel to find some awesome deals on style items.
Oh, and expect lots of dressing room photos.
I was going to one-up the challenge and add a rule of only wearing Target clothes for the rest of the year, but a complete overhaul of my wardrobe just isn’t in my budget at the moment. Maybe if I had won Powerball last night. Because let’s be real for a moment: even if I had won Powerball, I’d still be shopping at Target. You know you’d do it, too. I’d buy ALL THE THROW PILLOWS and purses, and it would be glorious.
I should also point out that Target is not sponsoring this project. This was all my own crazy idea and I can’t wait to take you along for the ride. So get ready for 2016: The #YearOfTarget
